Minutes

Treasurer's report. Chris Villarreal reported that IWA will be invoiced for chess services provided by the OCBCF for the Grades tournament it held. Also, SP overpaid its invoice by $8 and will need to be reimbursed. The IRS sent a notice saying we need to submit a form 990.

Bids and notices were submitted for the following tournaments

• September 2006
  • TBD: Beginners Tournament – Fannin Elementary
  • TBD: Fall Tournament, Calallen HS, possibly with Magee Intermediate
  • 30: Girls Regional or SP Shamrock Classic
• October
  • TBD: Magee Intermediate (if not Fall Tournament)
  • 14: Wynne Seale
  • 21/22: Girls State Tournament, Brownsville
• November
  • 4: Shootout, Kingsville
• December
  • 2: Share Your Christmas, Windsor Park
  • 8/9/10: National Grades, Orlando
• January 2007
  • 20: SP Shamrock Classic/Girls Regional
• Feb
  • ??: Region VII Tournament, Laredo
• TBD
  • Flour Bluff Tournament
  • Miller High School Tournament

The schedule will be reviewed by the executive committee in a meeting between now and the Annual Meeting, June 24 and presented to the membership at that time.

Bob James made a motion that the executive committee solicit tournaments to balance the schedule. It was seconded by Theresa Gauntt and passed unanimously.

The executive committee will also clarify procedure for the OCBCF's paying of first time memberships.

The annual meeting will be held at a location to be announced at the website on June 24 at 2 PM.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 PM.
