The following standard rules which will be used at tournaments in which OCBCF acts as the reporting affiliate were adopted at a general meeting on September 9, 2007:

The following standard rules which will be used at OCBCF-assisted tournaments were adopted at a general meeting on September 9, 2007:

1. The latest official USCF rules are followed in all rated tournaments.

2. Rule 15A (Variation 1), adopted at the July 2007 Delegates Meeting is followed: The player using a paper score sheet may first make the move, and then write it on the scoresheet, or vice versa.

3. Variation 11(h)(1) is followed: A Tournament Director (TD) will not require players to correct illegal moves he or she may notice while conducting TD duties, but may serve as a witness if the player points out the illegal move before 10 more moves have been made.

4. Players who know how to record their games are required to do so unless there is less than 5 minutes remaining for either player in a sudden death time control such as game/30.

5. Time controls will not be shortened when a time delay clock is used. For example, a player using a five second time delay in a Game/30 tournament will still set the clock for Game/30.

6. Parents, coaches, and players who finish games will not be allowed to remain in or reenter the tournament hall without permission from the Chief Tournament Director.

7. Players are required to have cell phones and unapproved electronic communicating devices turned off during a tournament. Use of a cell phone or unapproved electronic communicating device during tournament play may result in forfeiture of the game or explusion from the tournament.
